This will be my first lace knitting. I have wool and silk in lace weight. Anyone have any suggestions for a newbie. I keep looking at patterns but all the ones I fall in love with say intermediate or advanced.

I think the Forest Canopy Shawl is a great starter. It’s found here: http://knittingasfastasican.com/forest-canopy-shoulder-shawl/
It’s written for a beginner and has great instructions. And it’s gorgeous!
My first was the Kiri shawl at http://www.alltangledup.com/ and I thought it was a great way to begin with.
If you have access to Ravelry, hit the beginning lace knitters group. They have a long list of patterns, and helpful people. They also do a knit-along each month with a different pattern.
I’m doing this shawl for my first lace. I’m going to risk jinxing myself by saying it’s not as hard as I thought. Now, getting started was a massive amount of frogging, but now that I understand more or less what I’m doing, it’s going better.
Just remember, lifelines are your friends.
