Quandary - Generous Sponsors and Extra Prizes

We’ve run into a bit of a quandary – and we’d like you to help us out.  We are running this KAL for you, and as much as possible we’d like you to be happy with how we handle things.

When we started this, we spent a LOT of time worrying about how we might get enough prizes for all the things we wanted to do.

This is no longer a problem :-D , we’ve ended up with a few MORE prizes than we need to all of the things we planned.  And now we are spending time trying to figure out the best way to award them.

So without much more ado – please let us know how you’d like us to handle our extra prizes by particpating in this poll:

  1. I vote for numbers one and two. Thanks for all your hard work.

  2. Firefox is not letting me vote.

Here is my vote Extra Random Joy prizes – raffle dates determined by some wacky metric

  3. I can’t vote either, so please register my vote for random joy. There are enough new lace knitters etc. that I think they should be on an equal footing for prize goodness! And are the mavens eligible for random joy? They should be! Random joy for everyone!

  4. I can’t vote either. I like Susan’s idea – random joy for the mavens. Otherwise, random joy.

Thanks for all your work and support.

BTW – I’ve order some things from suppliers who have provided prizes. Even though they didn’t give a discount for SOL participants, I wanted them to know where I learned of them so they would realize that their prize “dollars” weren’t in vain.

  5. also, I apparently cannot figure out which I want: pole or poll!

  6. The pole wouldn’t work for me, either. I vote for other: random prizes for the Mavens. ‘Cause the amount of time and effort you all put into this is very impressive, and we wouldn’t be doing this without you!

  7. I voted for random joy, but you could also do some for other stuff, like “most impressive project” or “coolest idea ever” or “newb did good” or something.

Fair warning, I haven’t had caffeine yet, so all comments may be slightly on the incoherent side.

  8. I couldn’t vote on the poll – wouldn’t let me for some reason…

But, I also think that extra random joy and maybe a little runner up judged contests are cool. I agree with hilltopkatie that I will probably not be good enough for the judged contests!!!

    Darla – Detroit

  9. I like the idea of extra random joy prizes, but that’s a purely selfish reason as it’s very unlikely I’ll be managing to knit enough to win either of the judges contests.

  10. For some reason, IE won’t let me vote…so I’m posting my vote! I vote #1 or for a blog scavenger hunt. We did one in the Summer of Socks and it was fun.

  11. I like the idea of runner-up prizes for the Judged Contests as well as the Random Joy. Is there enough to do both?

    • No matter what they’ll be some Random Joy Prizes . . . the question is how many – whether all of them will be Random Joy, or we do some Random Joy prizes, and some for other things.

Sorry, the comment form is closed at this time.
