What's your line?

I’ve knit a couple of lace items with fingering weight yarn and I’m not really sure I care for the fabric. It is not light enough to be lace and it is not heavy enough to just be something with a lace pattern. I really like things like tops and sweaters that have a good portion of lace in them, but for shawls I think I really prefer a lace weight yarn to keep it light and airy. How do you feel about fingering weight lace?

  1. I agree, I knit lace from all weights of yarn … well except bulky but from lace to worsted. They all have a place

  2. I have to go by the pattern that I’m using. Some shawls just scream for almost cobweb lace weight, so quietly ask for thicker yarns. I also seem to use more of the larger weights when I want a bigger shawl than I think I’m going to get with lace weight.
My favorite…… would love to be a decisive person….. LOL!!!
