Welcome Back!

Welcome back everyone!!

As we gear up for Winter of Lace 2008-09, I’m busily contacting all sorts of people soliciting donations for prizes and trying to talk them into give you, our Seasons of Lace knitters, some discounts on their yarns.  As always, the complete list of prize donors will be on our Prize Page… and the list of folks who are providing discounts to Seasons of Lace Knitters will be on our Sponsors page.  But here’s a taste of the cornucopia I’m trying to build.

The first Sponsor to sign up for the Winter of Lace season is Artsy Gal.

She’s offered a 10% discount on every order over $20.00.  You can check out the details here.  Additionally, she’s running a contest on her blog right now.  She’s trying to post every day until Christmas.  … and she’s going to raffle off FREE YARN to the folks who comment on her blog between now and Christmas day (or the day she falls off the blogging wagon) which ever comes first.  This is a great chance to win some yarn for SoL knitting.  AND… if you win, and use it in an SoL project, and post about it… you’ll get a chance to win in the Support Our Sponsors Raffles!  Of course, any time you use our Sponsors’ goodies (and post proving that) you get a chance to win a Support Our Sponsors Raffle…..

Of our first eight prize donors, five are members of Seasons of Lace!  Four of them have no stores to shop in (they’re either shopping stash, or plugging their LYS’s).  One has a lovely etsy shop….

Lindsay (LynnzPickles ) of the Wooly Seashell has promised three! sets of five stitch markers (four regular, and one odd one for an eor marker). She’ll make them to the specifications of the winner. This is Lyndsay’s second season as both a participant and a prize donor!

But… the one that I got most excited about was Our Very First Donor of the season (because the first donation confirms to me that this will work!!!).  Our first Prize Donor was

Lace Banner
Renaissance Dyeing
is sending us another incredibly beautiful skein of indigo dyed lace-weight yarn, repeating her generous donation from the Summer Season.  (Makes me wish I could qualify for raffles, ya know?).

And shortly after this news, I learned that

Chris at Briar Rose Fibers is providing us with two $40.00 gift certificates for her shop. She’s also offering a 10% discount (see the Sponsor’s Page for details!). This is Chris’ second season supporting Seasons of Lace too!  These discounts are important to you — because using our Sponsor’s Wares can qualify you for a PRIZE!! (or two … or…..).  Go show Chris that you appreciate her generosity…

Similarly exciting to me…. Our first New Sponsor is

Susan’s Fiber Shop will be sending us a skein of lace-weight yarn (to be determined).  Susan’s shop is one that I can never skip at Stitches;  and she invariably has something I “need.”

And just in case you have no patterns for the yarn you’re sure to snap up while browsing or Donors’ shops…. stop by to say thanks to

Laura of Fiber Dreams, who is our first pattern donor for the season.  She has promised two lucky winners the choice of one of any of her patterns.

So, while you shop for the yarn you’ll use to knit your Seasons of Lace projects, (or patterns to knit, or markers to help you keep track), I’m going to bounce off to email more potential prize donors.

I love the new look – very chilly, it just makes me want to get out my needles and some lace yarn! I’m having a hard time waiting for the 21st. Maybe I will do a few warm-up projects to work out the kinks.

I like the new look too – it is not as busy as the old blog. Me and my yarn and needles feel very comfortable!

I am looking forward to the Winter SOL, and HOPEFULLY I will be able to complete something!

  • Thanks for you comments about the new style – We’ve run an update on the back-end as well so expect a few surprises when you login to make a post.
