Update on my Fiore di Melanzana.  I’m near the end of the second half of the center chart.  When WoL began I was about 40-45% complete.  As you can see it’s a very large project!  1500 yards worth!  The yarn is Tupelo Honey from Woolen Rabbit.

I’m absolutely loving this pattern but getting slightly antsy to begin my Laminaria, which I’ve vowed not to cast on until the Fiore di Melanzana is complete.

edited to add a pinch from a recent personal blog posting of mine…
I’m knitting a lace shawl looks like a pasture of winter grass in Oklahoma. Each row holds stitches of yellows so pale they are almost white, golds, and yellow greens, yellows within a breath of being orange. Soft beautiful merino wool the colors of winter grass. I love this shawl so much and I can’t wait to wrap it around my body.

  1. I’m not sure what the problem is regarding nominations for my post but I thank those who have shown an interest in nominating it.
Apparently I’ve turned something off – or not turned something on. If anyone has suggestions for fixing it please let me know.
    D~

  2. I want to nominate this post for Lace on display, but the option to nominate does not come up at the end of the comments, like it does on other posts!

  4. Beautiful job!

  5. The Tupelo Honey has plenty of green in it. In fact, if you look closely at the long view of the shawl in the chair you can see how much more green the first half has over the second half. That’s not a shadow! Just the difference in the yarn where I joined the center. I love the colors of this yarn!
The big question in my mind right now is how big is it going to be when I block it? I’m a small woman and this is a huge shawl!! hahaha

  6. What a lovely stole! Is that the buckwheat(?0 honey color that many used for Beefields? I did my beefields–well, am still doing it in the tupelo shade, but loved the golden colorway so much I may have to try this pattern!

    • oops–you say you are using the tupelo. Mine has a lot of green in it, while your photo looks more golden. Any idea when Wooly Wonka fibers will be open again? I think there site has been down for at least 6 week.

  7. Stunning. My hat’s off to you :-)
