I had a little bit of yellow and a little bit more of pink lace mohair that I wanted to use up and I came up with this scarf. I knitted it in a basic shetland style. I started with the yellow and knitted the center panel. Unfortunately, there wasn’t enough to make the center panel as long as I wanted so I added a little more on each end in the pink. Then I continued on in the pink to create the side panels. I finished with a little light green (not a remnant but the same kind of yarn) to create the outer lace edging. If I had to give the pattern a name, I would probably choose “Hearts and Diamonds within the Flower Bed” I made the pattern up as I went along and I am still not decided whether I like it or not but I thought I would share it anyway.
THe yarn used in the scarf is Karabella Lace Mohair and I use a size 5 (3.75 mm) needle
As I was finishing this (just before Valentine’s Day), I started Laminaria to take with me to FL (I was going down to see my Son’s HS band play in Disney and Universal Studios). I finished it last night and will have pictures when I get it blocked. I am a little amazed at how quickly it knitted up but I agree with the person who thought it was a little small. I think it will be a present for my niece who will be 7 next month.
