A quickie bag

This is the Monteagle Bag from Mason-Dixon’s new book. Of course I wanted to knit it because it was red, but I didn’t have the appropriate yarn, so I went with a #8 cotton thread that I had. since I was using thinner thread, I increased the number of stitches in the round as well as the number of rows.

What a fun knit. I’ve actually used these some of the same stitches for Heere be Dragon shawl, but I really liked how it looks here. I also stabilized the opening a bit by single crochet. The only problem is that I’ve snagged it already while trying to take a picture. Maybe I should block it the way I block all my lace?

Anyway, it’s such a fun knit that I’ll make another using thicker yarn/thread (that’s going to hold the stitches).
