This is an Herbert Niebling table topper modified to become a shawl. From my previous post, You’ll know about how I thought I would make it larger by adding additional leaf motifs. But ripped back and instead extended the stem portion of the flowers to make the shawl larger.
I like the color fine. It’s sort of a really really light blue. But I might try dyeing after the fact, just to see. Oh, there are beads on the bottom to give it some weight.
A little tweaking of the pattern was required for the shawl to be symmetrical. I’ll go back and make this table topper some time. I really like the way the flower are done and might incorporate this into the curtains (I’ve still yet to knit).

Gorgeous!
You did a wonderful job turning it into a shawl! It looks beautiful and the pattern shows off really well. Congratulations!
Beautiful as always!
I must say, previously I have thought that circular lace = tablecloth but seeing your work makes me wonder if I could pull it of after all…
But seriously, curtain knitting is also on my list. I was thinking about a Niebling too, but have forgotten about the name just now. It was a design with standing/ hanging flowers and stems and a matching tablecloth as well…. hmm have to go to find the magazine.
