Drafting Triangle

Drafting TriangleIs it just me or is it going to be a long cold and flu season?  I have been doing more spinning and knitting than blogging.  I have had children sick with the flu.  I am also trying to get my shop ready for the First Anniversary and Holiday Open House Sale.

Here is a picture showing my drafting triangle for the lace weight yarn that I have been spinning.  The drafting triangle is where the fibers are leaving the roving/rolag and entering the twist zone.  For lace weight yarn, the drafting triangle is very small.

Lace weight yarn is typically composed of very fine fibers.  This roving is a merino wool/silk blend.  Merino fibers are the finest of the wool fibers.

I am almost half way done spinning the singles for this yarn.  How is your spin along project going?
