Prizes

I am emerging from a haze of cables and frogged mystery knits to report that I have recieved my prizes from LostCityDenise and Sligo.  They are both wonderful!  I should have posted earlier, but my internet time has been limited lately.

First of all the yarn from Denise (lost city silk, silver bells).  I realise that this was not part of the Seasons draws, but I feel that it deserves some happy flailing and appreciation from the rest of the lace community.  I can’t describe how beautiful this yarn is.  It’s shine, the slight variagation of silver and blue, the softness and the comfort as I wind the ball (I’ve not started knitting yet).  It is so wonderful that I am planning a sonnet in its honour.  It is destined to become an Aoelian shawlette, with either blue lined square beads or royal purple seed beads.  Thoughts?  Which would look better do you think?

Secondly, the crochet hook holder from Sligo.  It is the little details about this that make me so happy.  I love that it fits both my 0.6mm and my 0.75mm, so is suitable for whatever lace yarn and beads I am using.  It does not tip over when I am using those weird heavy round glass beads.  It is purple and when I leave it on my desk it looks like a tiny piano   And the feet are so neat and don’t mark my table.  Joy!
