And the Winners Are....

Finally, that pesky post urging you all to vote has been allowed to slip back into the depths. Instead, I offer you the last post I’m going to write about Autumn Lace ’09!

First and foremost — thank you all so very much for your participation! Thank you to all the sponsors and donors who made the past several weeks of prize announcements possible.

And lo, I’ve got a couple more of those prizes to distribute.

The first prize on the block today is a very nifty project bag, created for us by one of our own members:Knitnana of

nanasadierose

She has has whipped up a lovely small project bag and sundry case set for us.

And this prize goes to the winner of the Voters Raffle! –  LadyFoxglove!

I’ve got one more Random Joy prize to award as well….

But you’re really interested in that Viewers’ Choice thing, aren’t you?  I don’t blame you!  There were some truly amazing pieces of lace among our Viewers’ Choice nominees this season.  But ya know… I can’t END on Random Joy… so you’ll have to wait while I award the last of the lovely

Progressive Shawl patterns that Cindy at BaxterKnits donated for Autumn Lace. She calls it a progressive shawl because the design starts simple, and increases in complexity as you go — so it’s a lace class that leaves you with a gorgeous shawl.   The Random Number Generator says that Cindy will be sending this one to KnittinDiva.  (I am so jealous).

As always, the voting was close like crazy for the runners up.  We had seven nominees.  Two weren’t terribly popular (oddly enough, one of them was in my top three).  Three items were within 4% of each other (coming in at 23% and 27% of the votes).  I wish I had enough prizes to give them each one!  However, even though I had planned on giving only a first and second place prize, I figure anyone who gets more than a quarter of the votes ought to win a prize.

And so… with 27% of the votes, I decree that The Veil Of Isis

.

Shall receive a prize for third place.  And thus, I offer to  sligo the following prize (okay, not so token, I love these booklets)

her choice of the Shawls booklet

or the Ribbings Plain and Fancy booklet,

which were donated by E.J. Slayton of JoyKnits

Continuing on, our Runner up received 35% of the vote.  That means over a third of us chose this bit of amazing lace as our favorite!

In celebration,

shelridge-farm-1

Buffy and Don at Shelridge Farms will be sending to sligo 2 skeins of their new Soft Touch Ultra Lace Weight Yarn in her choice of colors.

And finally, the moment you’ve been waiting for.  The Viewers’ Choice!

And here, with 54% of the vote(!) utlinde’s Dragon of Happiness!

To honor her achievement, Utlinde will receive 880 yards of hand dyed lace weight merino in colorway Tequila Sunrise.

This was dyed by our own Lost City Denise who also blogs at Lost City Knits (and who also, by the way, makes amazing balms and things out of lavender via Clear Creek Lavender).

And that’s it folks!  Autumn Lace lingered on, but it’s finally over!  This means that I’ve moved the Autumn Lace Prize Closet — you can still see it, but now that we have NEW prizes for Winter Lace, and we don’t need any confusion; they’re in the Prize CLoset.

Cool bag!! I ope it has pockets, because that bag would be amazing with them, not that it isn’t already. Cool for me!

Okay, of the many ways that could be interpreted, that one isn’t very friendly to my mond. Let’s try again.
Oh goodie!! I finally get to have a project bag of my own! Now I can stop borrowing them from my mother, which will make her very happy, I assure you. Not only is it cute, but it looks to be just the right size. Yay!!

  • Today I mailed the prize package to Utlinde and since we’ve all seen her lovely work – often knit in very fine lace weight – and since I noticed – while snooping on Ravelry – that her favorite color is red I emailed to ask if she’d prefer some red lace weight alpaca. So Utlinde has been sent a skein of Saffron Threads instead of the Tequila Sunrise.
