Some of you might remember that I was attempting to finish the Evenstar shawl in time for my graduation ball yesterday. Well… I did it. I finished at 5 last night, and Mum blocked it for me in the half hour before I left while I was getting ready. I am absolutely exhausted, but really pleased. It is beautiful. The whole family helped out – Dad and my brother worked out the maths to make a perfect circle to block around, and Mum did the actual blocking (and dried it with a hairdryer).
I got so many compliments for this (including the incredibly ego-boosting ‘OMG, you’re a genius’). I am so proud of this, and regard it as a true testement to family love (who else would wash and math out a shawl this size?) But I will never ever try it again. I don’t do well with deadlines, and I am currently running on only 9 hours of sleep over the last two days. So I am going to go take a nap, and in the meantime you can enjoy many, many pictures of my knitterly triumph.

Thanks everyone! It’s the biggest lace I’ve ever done so I was sort of glad to finish
Congratulations! I’m glad you got it done in time. Thanks for sharing your pictures too. While this is a beautiful pattern, the contrast in your photos really shows it off to its best.

Absolutely Gorgeous!!! I’m so glad your family pitched in so you could wear it after working so hard to get it finished in time. BEAUTIFUL.
