Most times, when you are knitting lace, until the “magic” of blocking happens, it looks like just a knotted up pile of yarn. My Mysterious Emily, I must say, does not fit the bill. This yarn/bead combo (Habu stainless steel and black onyx beads) is just so perfect, that it looks beautiful, even when tossed in a pile on the floor.
Of course when you open it up, it just sings! Like the most beautiful operatic voice you’ve ever heard!
I must admit, knitting this pattern for the 2nd time, with black Habu turned out to be some kind of punishment! The simple, yet glamorous look of it though, made it well worth the pain!

That is STUNNING!!!!!!
That came out lovely! As a singer, I loved you vocal allusions!
Glamorous is the word for this!!
Gorgeous! It´s so simple and so glamorous at the same time. It´s interesting to hear about the stainless steel, I have a cone laying around as well.
Maya- I will try to get pictures of me wearing it soon. My hubby is out of town, so I’ve really got no one to take pictures for me. I will say, even after blocking, the yarn is not a soft one. It does feel a bit “wirey”, although not terribly so. I probably won’t wear it against my skin, but over a nice turtle neck or collared shirt. I did the cast on double, and then went to single strand. While the pattern was easy, working with this yarn was not!
What an interesting piece! I’m curious about the stainless too…is it rough? Beautiful, Bette!
Okay, that is AMAZING. How was knitting with the stainless? You didn’t hold it together with anything else I assume. You’ve inspired me. Although I do not think I can ever face that much garter stitch again I am definitely looking around for another simple beaded pattern to make with the Habu stainless. How does it wear? If you have time will you post pictures of you wearing it? Along with more descriptions of how it knit and feels? Do you have a Rav page set up for it?
