I finished my wisp. Normally, I’d take pictures of the lace blocking. However, I’m not going to block this one. I realized that as it is now, it fits perfectly. Blocking would screw that up. So instead, here’s a picture of me wearing my wisp after having just walked the dog. Hey, I never said [...]
Fairly recently, I’ve discovered the perfect thing to keep me warm (or help with it) while walking the dog. Oddly enough, it was wisp. It’s just a fluff of lace, a tiny bit of thing. I knit it years ago (before I joined Ravelry apparently). And I finally figured out a great way to wear [...]
I got some time today to post pictures of the awesome yarn I won on the past Season of Lace. First I picked up 2gorgeous skeins of Samantha in Stitches Footcrazy Sock yarn ( 75% superwash wool, 25% Nylon) in the beautiful Lagoon Colorway. Since each skein is 450 yards, I’m seeing either a shawlette [...]
So yesterday (before the winter season started) I finished and blocked my last bit o’ Christmas knitting. I present to you, my Allgeheny Muse Knit with Elann Baby Silk (80% alpaca 20% silk) on size 5 needles. If I were to do this again, I’d go up a bit in needle size. It came [...]
So, it’s not quite lace on the road…but it does include traveling. I’m ready to start turning the heel. Just so you know, I’ve pretty much only been knitting these socks in class (for the last month) when I’m not taking notes. I’m doing fairly well, I think.
A couple of weeks ago, I cast on for a pair of socks. Really, it’s my Finance Professor’s fault. He’s a good teacher, but he just..keeps..talking. I like him. But there was just a wee bit too much down time between note taking bursts for me. But not enough to do a more complex lace [...]
About a week ago, I finished my Kernel scarf, a Christmas gift for my MIL. I didn’t get it blocked/ photographed until today. It’s my first finished project of the Autumnal season. It’s knit with Lost City Wool/Tussah Silk. Oddly enough, the beads don’t show up well in any of these pictures. Here’s [...]
Finished pictures of the silk Annis I’m knitting for a friend. This used about 30 grams of Lost City Silk…which is gorgeous and shiny and soft as …something really soft. My brain shut off a bit ago. I can’t wait to use the remaining yarn. Maybe Magpie (Ravelry Link)
I realized, on my last post I tagged it as “beaded lace.” I realized, that means I have to show a pic of the beads. So…beads! Ok, so I added more beads than the pattern called for. A few extra beads never hurt anyone, right? ….and they’re so pretty.
I’ve cast on for the Kernel Scarf which is intended to be a present for my MIL for Christmas. Yes, I know it’s absolutely wrong to knit Christmas presents in September, but I need something to distract me from my homework. And yes, the yarn really does glow like that. That yarn is the wool/tussah [...]
