Finished pictures of the silk Annis I’m knitting for a friend. This used about 30 grams of Lost City Silk…which is gorgeous and shiny and soft as …something really soft. My brain shut off a bit ago. I can’t wait to use the remaining yarn. Maybe Magpie (Ravelry Link)
I realized, on my last post I tagged it as “beaded lace.” I realized, that means I have to show a pic of the beads. So…beads! Ok, so I added more beads than the pattern called for. A few extra beads never hurt anyone, right? ….and they’re so pretty.
I’ve cast on for the Kernel Scarf which is intended to be a present for my MIL for Christmas. Yes, I know it’s absolutely wrong to knit Christmas presents in September, but I need something to distract me from my homework. And yes, the yarn really does glow like that. That yarn is the wool/tussah [...]
A couple weeks ago a friend asked if anyone would be willing to knit her a frilly sweater; if she bought the yarn. I’m not up for knitting sweaters for other people, but I offered to knit Annis for her instead. She asked for recommendations on yarns and I sent her a couple of links, [...]
Last night I finished and blocked my “Vine scarf.” Sadly I can’t pronounce the real name, as Finnish is a language I’ve not yet learned. It looks like this I knit this for a friend who wanted to incorporate more “girly stuff with ruffles” into her closet. I hope this qualifies and that she likes [...]
I finished my Rock Island last week, but didn’t get a chance to block it until today. Here’s a pic of it blocking… Knit with knitpicks gloss lace yarn, it took 2 skeins of yarn and blocked out to 6′ by 3′ It looks a LOT nicer now that it’s blocked. I don’t think I’ll [...]
After I finished the edging on my rock island, things started zipping along much better. It was going really well…almost too well. And last night I hit a point where I realized I should have 11 stitches. I only have 8. I’m in the “knitting lace on both sides” part. This is going to require [...]
I’ve finished the first of the baby blankets I’m making in the next few months. Here is my Labyrinth Baby Blanket. Based off the Baltic Labyrinth pattern, I created a Greek Key pattern for the border. Knit with Berocco Vintage yarn. Couple more glamor shots…
I have cast on for Rock Island also. This is my first time doing a Knit-A-Long, I’m excited to be one of the “cool kids” for once. So far, I have this. This is 22 repeats of the edging chart, in Knit Picks Gloss Lace yarn, peapod color. So far, this edging has been kicking [...]
Having finished my (non-lace) socks, and waiting for my next yarn order to come in, I cast for my Red Hot Flamenco. Hopefully, eventually it will look like this… Pattern: Flamenco Yarn: Knit Picks Tonal, Gypsy Colorway Beads: Dark Grey silver lined from Michael’s This will likely become a season-spanning project in the future. I’ve [...]
