So after my Rock Island setback, I frogged back and re-knit the garter stitch section. And I finally got to block it last week. I love the finished shawl! The colorway is one of my favorites, and I think it works quite well with this pattern.
I’ve been busy at work for the past several weeks, but luckily commuting gave me time to continue working on a couple of projects. One of the shawls I completed was Haruni (done in Wollmeise twin fingering): I actually ran out of yarn and had to do a few rows in Wollmeise 100% in [...]
I was so proud when I finished knitting the Rock Island shawl that I posted about here. I did not mention that I had zipped through knitting this while watching the first season of 24, which I had never seen before (great show, by the way, and very exciting). The two skeins I was using [...]
Since I finished knitting Rock Island, I was able to cast on a new project – this is the start of Haruni, knit in Wollmeise Twin in the Dornröschen colorway: Love knitting with Wollmeise – the color just glows. I can’t capture with the camera how beautiful it is. I am knitting this for someone [...]
I’m very happy to say that I finished knitting my Rock Island earlier this week! I love shawls that you knit from the edge in – it’s totally worth it to me to slog through the cast on (and in this case, the lace edging) in order to see the shawl getting smaller and smaller [...]
My last project is one I had hibernating for over a year that I decided to pull out. The pattern is Birches by Laura Patterson: I got the yarn (Pigeonroof Original sock) and pattern through the WoolGirl 2009 sock club. I don’t have a picture of further progress yet (this picture was taken before the [...]
Remember how I said I don’t know why I didn’t post projects in past seasons? Well, here’s one that I started during the spring SOL and finished during the summer SOL: The pattern is Luiza by Jane Araujo. It was written for fingering weight yarn, but I thought it would work in the worsted weight [...]
So I’ve been very remiss about posting here…I’m not sure why. I’ve registered each season and knit a bunch of lace, but for some reason I’ve never gotten around to posting the work I’ve done. Anyway, I am back now, and inspired by the Rock Island KAL! I decided to do mine in Sanguine Gryphon [...]
All blocked! Unfortunately I don’t have a great picture of it, since it was almost dark when I got home from work (I’ll post better pictures in Ravelry once I’ve had a chance to take them): I found a stitch I had dropped on the border when I was blocking it – luckily I caught [...]
I also finished knitting my Emily Dickinson shawl. Actually, I finished knitting it a week ago, but I didn’t have a chance to post about it. It still needs to be blocked, but I will be doing that tonight to get this in just under the deadline. Here’s a picture of it near the end [...]
