I have adopted a family of 8 children and am in the throes of knitting and crocheting gifts. I cast on a Meret for the 17-yo and it is moving along quickly. When this is finished, I’ll have three of eight gifts complete, with two others on the needles… My needles and hooks are blazing!
My knitting friends at work gave me a lovely gift. Three balls of LB Cashmere and the pattern for Ptarmigan. I have cast on this lovely, buttery yarn for my very own Jared Flood neckwarmer. Rav Project Page I’ve been knitting and crocheting a lot and none of it has been for me. Time for [...]
My cousin and her husband are expecting their first child in October. Their shower is in September. They are the ultimate Baltimore Ravens fans. I’ll be making a few things in some fabulous Ravens colorways. First up, a Pinwheel Baby Blanket (rav link) using Knit Picks Swish DK in White, Eggplant, and Coal. I think [...]
The Completely Pointless and Arbitrary Group on Ravelry.com is one the places I hang out – a lot! They have a few spin off groups and one is the CPaAG C/KAL Group. The CPaAG C/KAL group has begun an April/May C/KAL – Baktus. The best I can tell, we are all doing the knitting version, [...]
I’m in. I’m here. I haven’t started anything yet!
This year, there are girls getting hats. Generally, I only have boys on the list, and there is no lace for them! This year, my cousin (from Florida) is heading to Colorado for Christmas and needs some woolly warmth and my son’s girl friend will be spending Christmas with us. My previous post has my [...]
This topper only took a couple of days. I posted the cast-on a couple of weeks ago and just got around to taking a picture. I think it will look better with a bit of blocking, but I’m having a hard time finding something to block it on. It may just be given as is. [...]
I’m making hats for Christmas gifts. Many hats are planned. I hope to finish at least 5. This one happens to be a little bit lacy, knit in bulky yarn on size US 10.5 needles. It should go fast. At the least, it will be faster than the DK hat with an [...]
I finished, except for buttons (which I am waffling on), the baby preemie sweater and cap. The two pieces used less than 200 yards. A delicate fine lace for a wee babe. The baby in question came home from the hospital last week. Born at 3 lb 5 oz. (see previous post), she is now [...]
I started a lovely little baby set for a wee little girl. Born at 31 weeks, she was 3 lb 5 oz and 15 inches long. I found a lovely pattern for a little sweater, cap and bootie set. I cast on last night (9/24/2009)… the sweater is lacy and qualifies here, in the wee [...]
