This is an Herbert Niebling table topper modified to become a shawl. From my previous post, You’ll know about how I thought I would make it larger by adding additional leaf motifs. But ripped back and instead extended the stem portion of the flowers to make the shawl larger. I like the color fine. It’s [...]
This pattern is very cool. This is a lace and cables pattern. The edging is from Nancy Bush’s Estonia Lace book (#5). I had actually started a lace bag using this pattern, but thought that this pattern would look great as a scarf or shawl. Since I only had 2 balls of this color Kidsilk Haze, I opted [...]
I’m presently working on adapting Burda Special E903/09–aka Magnolie/Fruhlingsblumen to a shawl. I’m sort of stalled right now because I’ve got massive ripping to do and don’t feel like it right now. Because of the shape of the original table topper, I thought I’d be clever (like a fox) and add in additional motifs to [...]
This is the Monteagle Bag from Mason-Dixon’s new book. Of course I wanted to knit it because it was red, but I didn’t have the appropriate yarn, so I went with a #8 cotton thread that I had. since I was using thinner thread, I increased the number of stitches in the round as well [...]
This triangle shawl was knit using Evelyn Clark’s Knitting Lace Triangles book. I used 2 motifs and knit til I liked the size. I sort of made up my own edging because the standard one from the book just a little too ‘dense’. Here’s a picture of my daughter modeling it for me (yes, she’s [...]
I received this beautiful knitting bag from PoMoGolightly as a prize from last season. She was nice enough to take my color choices in mind and sent me this great bag. Not only that, but there’s also a fabulous skein of yarn too. I’ve finally taken a picture of it, but had to empty it [...]
I knit this at the end of January, but due to various other commitments and such, didn’t have a chance to post here. This is another pattern from Pitsilised Koekirjad, by Leili Riemann. It’s pattern 201, by the way. It was a pretty fast knit, even tho’ it’s knit on both sides.
I love all the beautiful lace being knitted. I finished off another lace doily. This is supposed to be a much larger piece (50 more rounds), but I decided not to do the repeated motif. This was knit using 000 needles and #100 thread. Here’s a shot w/ a penny for comparison:
I’ve been working on this shawl since after Christmas. I like the pattern, don’t like the fact that it’s knit on both sides. So I got tired. I’m not a big fan of knitting every row, I kinda feel like I should have twice the shawl for it. I really like the edging, it’s a [...]
This is a small Niebling doily knit using Cebelia 20. I’m also working on a stole, but that’s going so slowly, I thought I’d show this instead. I love how the stitch pattern results in ‘shading’ of the piece. Very cool. Started January 4 2009 Completed January 7 2009 knit w/ Cebelia #20 2mm Harmony [...]
