It’s a quick one I tell you! And just so lovely.  I knit this in BMFA Socks that Rock Mediumweight, in Mossay, a really beautiful color.

After knitting a LOT of lace I’ve taken a bit of a break…but now I’m back and really enjoying myself!  I don’t know if we’re in a season or what, but I’m having so much fun that I want to share my latest project.  Nypon…just cast on about three days ago and already and I’m [...]

I realized, I dont think I posted here that I have been working on this project the last two months. It is Evanstar and I love it! I am about 40% done and since I am doing it as my dissertation for NerdWars over at Ravelry, I have to finish it by the end of this month. [...]

Prep :-)

As mentioned yesterday I have cleared some bobbins for lace spinning. What I didn’t anticipate is that I would finish off my lace yarn today already, but that 100% Corridale, colourway “Dennes Point” by The Thylacene fibers, that I got a mere couple of days ago was amazing to spin and work went practically all [...]

Snowstorm finished

After waiting more then a week for those friggin’ knitting needles (and snapping a second one just after they’ve arrived) I got the snowstorm scarf finished in no time. Doing the fringes (100 strings for the body and another 24 for the ends) was great fun – although I had feared I would run out [...]

So, it’s not quite lace on the road…but it does include traveling. I’m ready to start turning the heel.  Just so you know, I’ve pretty much only been knitting these socks in class (for the last month) when I’m not taking notes.  I’m doing fairly well, I think.

It’s been a fair while since I’ve last knitted lace. That is, since I moved to Australia last fall all I have finished, that would be even closely related to lace would be my mom’s “Diagonal Alley”, that I sent home  for Christmas. It’s a coine lace patterned scarf made from blue mohair (of which [...]

Birdsfoot Fern

I call it a scarf, but Birdsfoot Fern could just as easily be worn as a shoulder shawl. I’m not sure exactly when I knit this, sometime during the summer when I was waiting for yarn for a different project to arrive. The pattern is now for sale, and The Sanguine Gryphon even dyed up [...]

Finally finished Rock Island last week on October 5th. I was so excited! It blocked much bigger than I thought it would. I really hope my Mother-in-law likes it as its for her.

I really meant to post things before the summer season started but never got there so this will be a long post with lots of pictures of things I finished over the spring and into the start of the summer. This scarf was done in the spring and I am only showing it off because [...]
