I finally finished Emily DIckenson. The only reason she languished so long was all that garter stitch. It just swam before my eyes! But, a dear friend turns 30 on Saturday, and I realized I wanted to give this shawl to her, so I just buckled down and knit! I love how it looks! I [...]
I will get better pictures, because Emily deserves to be photographed well, but here she is blocking…

I didnt get a lot of lace FINISHED this summer, but I got a lot cast on! Here are pictures of the two finished projects, and the…lots of projects still on the needles. I will finish my Emily soon, got bogged down in the rows of knitting. Aestlight finished Nutkins finished Emily about 30% done, though it [...]
All blocked! Unfortunately I don’t have a great picture of it, since it was almost dark when I got home from work (I’ll post better pictures in Ravelry once I’ve had a chance to take them): I found a stitch I had dropped on the border when I was blocking it – luckily I caught [...]
I also finished knitting my Emily Dickinson shawl. Actually, I finished knitting it a week ago, but I didn’t have a chance to post about it. It still needs to be blocked, but I will be doing that tonight to get this in just under the deadline. Here’s a picture of it near the end [...]
Most times, when you are knitting lace, until the “magic” of blocking happens, it looks like just a knotted up pile of yarn. My Mysterious Emily, I must say, does not fit the bill. This yarn/bead combo (Habu stainless steel and black onyx beads) is just so perfect, that it looks beautiful, even when tossed [...]
Though I finished this shawl several weeks ago, this morning we took a few photos. I absolutely love how it turned out! Pattern from Knitlab Yarn Lost City Silk in Portland Beads Copper-lined clear size 6
This took me a month. I used Mountain Colors Winter Lace in Deep Blue. This is laceweight and not cobweb weight. It took about 516 yards. I did use beads, attaching them with the Super Floss method. This is the first shawl that I think looks pretty good without blocking. The picture is unblocked – I’ll be blocking [...]
I also started a new shawl the other day – I decided to knit Emily Dickinson even though I hadn’t planned on doing the KAL. I’ve only done a few rows (and missed up already, argh), so no pics yet. But I love the yarn – I’m using a skein of Posh Diana (a cobweb [...]
